Speaking of Wes Anderson, here is SNL’s parody of a Wes Anderson horror film.
"Dear Homeowner, Can we kill you? - The Murders"
Wes Anderson is one of our top three favorite directors. He practically has his own genre of film. We love his movies and are very excited for his new film that comes out next year! The film is The Grand Budapest Hotel, and the trailer just came out today. Here it is!

Ridley Scott’s Blade Runner is a total sci-fi classic. We found this great trailer for the movie to give it a classic 1940’s Noir feel apposed to it’s sic-fi neo noir undertones of the actual film.
We watched The Graduate for the first time. We’ve heard many references to the film before, and we finally got around to watching it on Hulu+. Dustin Hoffman plays the main character. The film takes a look in to the life of Benjamin Braddock a recent college graduate who doesn’t know what to do with his life.
As we watch Benjamin struggle to take on the expectations of his parents and the people around him, we see him make decisions that are presented to him. He tries to take what is given to him and float with what waves hit him. He sums it up when he’s asked by his father what he’s doing. “Well, I would say that I’m just drifting. Here in the pool.” We watch Benjamin grow up in this film and start to take charge of his life. He starts to realize that his parents don’t run his life, he does; He’s an adult now.
Joe and I enjoyed this coming of age film from 1967. The shooting style was great. It had an interesting story and comedic moments every once in a while. Simon and Garfunkel do the soundtrack for the film, and the music fits the film perfectly. It exudes the feel of America in the 1960’s.
WARNING: HIGHLY ADDICTIVE
Two weekends ago we were about to watch a movie, Star Trek II: Wrath of Khan. We wanted to watch it because it got such great reviews when on imdb and because we really enjoyed the two recently made Star Trek films by JJ Abrams. We wanted to write up an analysis of the plots and how Wrath of Khan compared to Star Trek Into Darkness. We started watching it, but decided we wanted to watch something more modern.
We searched our Netflix instant queue for another movie, and we stumbled upon Breaking Bad. The show had been sitting in our queue for a few months now. Although not a movie, we’ve had this on our watch list for some time. Knowing that the series finale is coming up and how much people like to watch it, we decided we had to start it. We had no intention of watching almost three full seasons of the very intense drama over the next week, but we did.
We’re now about halfway through season 3. The show is so intense and gripping in each episode. We never know what’s going to happen next. And every episode ends in a cliff hanger urging us to watch “just one more!” That one more turns in to three more and we end up binge it all.
The acting is great and we can’t believe that ultra-serious Walter White is played by the same actor, Bryan Cranston, who played the hilarious father in Malcolm in the Middle. We’re caught up in the show, but it’s great having it all on Netflix, because we’d go crazy waiting 6 months for the next season to come out if we were watching it on live tv. Heck, even waiting a week for the next episode would be difficult!
Character Analysis: The Wolf
"I’m Mr. Wolf. I solve problems."
In Quentin Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction, Mr. Wolf is the go to guy for clearing up sticky situation in as little time as possible. Winston Wolf is the guy that every project manager can learn from. Joe is a Project Management major and can see why Mr. Wolf is so good at what he does. He is an expert planner, which every project manager needs to be. The Wolf takes very accurate and detailed notes to understand every piece of the equation; after obtaining all of this information, he plans out every step he needs to get to his goal. He delegates each task to the appropriate person and makes sure that everyone understands their tasks they are assigned.
Mr. Wolf is all about fast. He drives fast. He thinks fast. He acts fast. The Wolf knows how much time each task takes and plans accordingly. He never wastes time, and he hates when people waste his time. Mr. Wolf knows that he is very good at solving problems, and he doesn’t want to be in a place where he’s not appreciated. He takes his job very seriously.
And best of all, he drinks coffee. This is the key to getting things done. He stays focused and alert at all times. But he doesn’t just drink coffee to keep him awake, he enjoys it. ”Lots of cream, Lots of sugar” He tells Jimmy when he asks how he takes his coffee. He takes time to enjoy the little things like a fast car, a well fitting suit and a sweet cup of coffee.
We were watching the deleted scenes for Up In The Air, one of our favorite movies, last week. And we found a great scene of Ryan Bingham in a space suit, because his character is always flying he feels like a lone spaceman. It’s hard not to think of the new movie Gravity with George Clooney and Sandra Bullock when watching this deleted scene.
We think that the entire movie could take place in the character Ryan Bingham’s dreams. It’s just like Inception! This deleted scene could be another trailer for the new movie Gravity. It releases on October 4, 2013.
